Treebeards is the first up in the list because of its experience and long history in cooking upsouthern comfort food. It has been around since 1978 in what was previously known as a very remote and neglected part of Houston called Market Square. Its modest beginnings meant that the restaurant had the capacity of tending to 30 visitors at any one given time, snuggly tucked into a corner between a bar and arcade.
