Hermann Park, Houston

There are just so many activities that one can think of to do over summer. Theme parks and beaches are popular summer activities, and if you have been doing that for many years, you may want to do something a little different this year. And if you need an idea, we have just the right one for you – charter a Houston bus, load the whole family onto it and have the bus driver send all of you to the Hermann Park at 6201-A Hermann Park Drive, Houston, for a day of fun filled, under the sun activities that everyone will enjoy.

First time Houston charter bus passengers to the Hermann Park may not know much about the park, but it was presented to the City of Houston back in 1941 by Mr George Hermann and it is one of the city’s most famous parks. This 445-acre park has since seen many transformations and over time, places of interests such as the Houston Zoo, Miller Outdoor Theatre, Houston Museum of Natural Science, Houston Garden Center and the Hermann Park Golf Course added on to the Hermann Park’s importance of being an unmatched destination of outdoor entertainment for all – from the young to the old. What some may not be aware of is that in the late 1980s, due to inadequate funds and very high turnover of visitors to the park, it was poorly maintained and the state of the park became rather rundown until intervention came from a group of locals who formed “Friends of Hermann Park”, which is now known as “Hermann Park Conservancy” who worked hard on developing the park to be more user friendly and restoring the park to its original state of natural beauty.

Picnics at the Hermann Park is something that many Houston charter bus passengers enjoy at the park and there are many good spots at the park where you can have your picnic while enjoying the sun and people watch. If you are lucky, you will be able to find a perfect spot right in front of the water pool, where you will not just get to people watch, but watch ducks and turtles swimming by in the water pool. Kids get to run and play at the park freely, under the careful watch of their parents. The older kids would also bring along a basketball or volleyball to play. Sometimes, you will also see wedding photo shoots or family photo shoots taking place at the park too – which is not a rare sight at all. With a park as beautiful as this, surely it is the perfect spot for such important photo shoots.
